After my first year holding fall family sessions, I knew I wanted to offer another family photo session at a holiday-like location.
While scouting locations around Cleveland and Akron, I came to a Christmas tree farm close by and had to check it out. Medina Christmas Tree Farm turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. The gentleman I spoke to, Doc, was so friendly and warm when I inquired about using his property for a holiday family session. He only asked that my clients and/or I donate for Trees for Troops, which was a perfect giving opportunity for the holidays. With the donations they collect, they ship trees to U.S. troops stationed around the country and world. I included in the session fee a portion to be donated for this awesome organization. You can learn more about it and get info on how to donate here. I picked a date for our session before the Thanksgiving holiday and rush of Christmas tree shopping so that we did not have to fight the crowds.
One of my girlfriends and sorority sisters from college reached out for a session with her husband, little girl and their dog, too! On our way I got a call from her that the had to pull over as their brand new car just shut down on them. But I would not let that stop us from getting these family pictures for them. I met them where they were stopped, loaded them, car seat, and dog into my car. That little moment of stress was no problem for us and we just laughed it off 🙂 We could not have asked for better weather as the sun set right behind the trees in the distance as we started our session! It was so special to capture some real moments and some classic portraits for them and their family! They were also surprising the grandparents with photos from this shoot as a Christmas gift 🙂 Enjoy a few favs!
